LUBEST DIESEL FUEL ANALYSIS

Fuel Quality Analysis with Condition-Based Recommendations

Regular diesel fuel analysis can help identify the causes of performance loss before they become detrimental to the life of an engine. Regular analysis on your fuel storage tanks is vital to aid in avoiding the following problems:

  • Rough starts and excessive smoking caused by a low cetane number
  • Plugged fuel filters caused by mold, bacteria, or fungi found in the tank due to excessive water contamination
  • Voided warrantees, damaged emission reduction equipment, and possible EPA fines for using fuel with high levels of sulfur
  • Poor cold weather performance and increased fuel filter plugging due to a high Cloud Point

Using regular LuBest Diesel Fuel Analyses helps to alert you to take action before equipment damage or power lose occurs, and it will enable customers to schedule preventative maintenance as it is needed rather than reacting to a failure. To help ensure that costly emergency downtime and repairs are eliminated, and that your diesel engine continues to run and remain profitable, our laboratory team offers three types of LuBest Diesel Fuel Analysis: Basic, Standard, and Deluxe.

  • The LuBest Diesel Fuel Basic Analysis is for customers who do not need full ASTM D975 testing. This analysis tests for cetane, water by Karl Fisher, and bacteria. This is the minimum information needed for customers to make decisions regarding their fuel system.
  • The LuBest Diesel Fuel Standard Analysis is the recommended analysis for customers that need testing that conforms to ASTM D975. This standard analysis is the minimum recommended analysis for hospitals and other customers who are subject to Life and Safety inspections. This report may be utilized to assist with EPA compliance.
  • The LuBest Diesel Fuel Deluxe Analysis is for customers who would need testing that conforms to ASTM D975, completed in the standard analysis, along with a copper corrosion analysis. This additional analytical test details the corrosion characteristics of the fuel on copper components.

To complete diesel fuel analysis, 1 liter of sample is required and should be submitted using the LuBest Diesel Fuel Sample Kit. Testing results are typically completed within 4 weeks of sample receipt.
